automatica 2023

Synergy. Together for greater success. In Munich.

We look forward to welcoming you on our booth at automatica.

June 27–30, 2023
Hall B6, stand 501+503

Insights. Impetus. Innovations.

How are robotics and smart automation changing the future? And how are they pioneering a sustainable economy? This is precisely what the trade fair automatica gives answers to and brings together decision-makers from industry, research and politics in Munich from June 27 to June 30, 2023.

The focus of the leading trade fair for intelligent automation and robotics is on the topics of “Digitization & AI”, “Sustainable Production” and “Future of Work”. Apart from concrete practical applications and exciting product innovations, the exchange with key players and industry experts takes top priority. From components to systems, from services to applications – automatica offers an overview of current developments and innovations for all manufacturing sectors and thus provides the necessary orientation.

Challenges need solutions – that is exactly why Future Systems and Wöhner are at automatica together! As a full-service provider, Future Systems stands for independent developments and services in the field of embedded hardware, software development, user experience and artificial intelligence. As an innovation hub within the Wöhner group, exciting synergies and future-oriented products are created together with Wöhner as the innovation driver – for intelligent distribution and control of energy.

We are looking forward to presenting our solutions to you in person. Visit us at our joint booth 501+503 in hall B6!

Future Systems – Idea Hunters

Future Systems is a young company with a focus on smart solutions for sustainable electronic systems. Future Systems covers the entire spectrum of services – in the areas of hardware and software. The field of activity ranges from individual prototypes and feasibility studies to the complete industrialisation of a product – from the idea to the production line. The guiding principle of the "Idea Hunters" is always in focus.

With automatica, Future Systems is represented for the first time with its own booth at a trade fair and presents its competences in hardware and software development. The results are shown exemplarily by the Wöhner products.

Our highlights at automatica 2023

Softstart feature upgrade for Motus®C14

The feature upgrade “soft start” includes the 3-phase phase cut of the input voltages to reduce the starting torque of a motor. The average voltage at the motor is reduced, which also results in a reduced starting current.

As a result, the motor starts with a torque below its nominal torque and can be started smoothly. Less mechanical stress on the motor and less stress on the power grid during start-up are the direct, positive effects.

Wöhner thus combines all C14 features with soft start, reversing start, fuse and motor protection in one product, the MOTUS®C14, on a minimal 22.5 mm width. Configuration is convenient and intuitive via the Wöhner ServiceTool.

CrossMT – A new digital level

With the electronic measurement technology module CrossMT, Wöhner completes its entry into the digitalisation of its successful basic system, CrossBoard®. In combination with a wide range of applications, the CrossMT adds intelligent functions and connectivity for various components in the cabinet.

The CrossMT measures current, voltage and temperature and derives additional quantities from these values such as power, energy, phase angle and frequency and can then output this data over various communication interfaces (USB-C, digital inputs/outputs, IO-Link). Status LEDs on the top and bottom of the device provide users with a clear overview.

Feature upgrades – software-based function expansion

Digital and smart products are an essential part of our lives. With a wide variety of functions and application possibilities, they not only offer a high degree of convenience, but also comprehensive functionality for a wide range of tasks. With increasing digitalization, product software takes on a fundamental role in ensuring the functionality and safety of products.

In the field of energy distribution and control technology, intelligent as well as digital product solutions also contribute significantly to the safety and efficiency of energy distribution systems. Here, communication between different devices and interfaces or the collection and evaluation of data provide the basis for an intelligent power grid.

In addition, the functional scope of the products can be adapted, optimised and expanded through customised feature upgrades. The implementation of new or the modification of existing functions thereby enables a continuous adaptation of the functionality. In this way, not only can problems that arise be effectively solved, but the application possibilities and areas of use can also be expanded and adapted step by step.

Wöhner too offers feature upgrades in order to equip software-controlled products, such as the MOTUS®C14 or the CrossMT measurement technology module, with new functions and to expand the respective area of application.

At no additional cost

We are currently providing these software-based feature upgrades for free. With this offer, we want to counterbalance price increases that we have had to impose due to increased overall costs.

We provide our products with a clear added value that compensates for the slightly higher prices by what the solutions then provide. This is how we want to maintain our price-product balance. Where the supply chains set the (price/cost) pace, we increase performance. Because our ambition is to offer high-quality and cutting-edge solutions for the control cabinet at attractive conditions.#

MIEZ – Measurement technology for the control cabinet

Wöhner is expanding its range of measurement technology products with new modules for control cabinet monitoring and is now covering the entire measurement chain: measuring, analysing, visualising, communicating, responding.

The new products are available for the DIN rail and direct installation in the control cabinet door. They round off the Wöhner measurement technology that includes the fully integrated solutions MOTUS®C14 and OMUS®C14 as well as the measurement technology module CrossMT.

The various monitoring modules give you a clear overview at all times. They serve as a collection point for all data in the control cabinet, evaluate them and pass on the analyses to the user. Connected with current transformers (1 A,  5 A, 333 mV), they take care of measuring current and voltage, analyse active, apparent and reactive power, the power factor, harmonics and much more –  all compact and customised.
